D’s first birthday party had a “Where The Wild Things Are” theme, which we thought was perfectly fitting for our wild one. We had forest themed decorations, signs with quotes taken from the story, an opportunity for guests to write in D’s “Where The Wild Things Are” book, and snacks that fit the wild theme. Here are some photos from our party and the photoshoot that accompanied our boy’s first birthday!
TOUR THE INFANT NURSERY
We wanted D’s nursery to emphasize the meaning of his name and the truth we want to raise him in. We wanted the colors to be bright, but not overwhelmingly so; coordinated and cute. We decided to go with light blue, banana cream yellow, and graphite gray. I painted all of the signs displayed on his wall and created the fabric banners. The blanket above his crib was purchased from ModernBurlap.com. To add to the storage space in his closet we turned a bookcase into a dresser of sorts, and it has given us an aesthetically pleasing way to organize all of the random baby items that didn’t fit in the actual dresser (not pictured), bookcase, or hanging in the closet. Picture frames were added upon his arrival to bring more of his personality into the room. We really love this special space!
